Thanksgiving is acknowledgment. Giving thanks to the Lord magnifies the Lord and makes him
big in our sight. In psalms 9, David said, “I will give thanks to you, Lord”. Giving thanks is a
deliberate action; it does not happen automatically and neither should it be circumstantial. David
said “I will”, meaning he will, and this does not mean he will always feel like it.
