Thanksgiving is acknowledgment. Giving thanks to the Lord magnifies the Lord and makes him big in our sight. In psalms 9, David said, “I will give thanks to you, Lord”. Giving thanks is a deliberate action; it does not happen automatically and neither should it be circumstantial. David said “I will”, meaning he will, and this does not mean he will always feel like it.

How great is the Father’s love for us that, while we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. The expression of His love toward us was demonstrated on the cross; for He (God) made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). Christ broke down the middle wall of partition between you and God, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances.
